Projeto Mundo Novo was founded in 2007. Today, it serves approximately 1,500 children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability through 9 centers. We remove children and adolescents from areas of vulnerability and social risk where there is a prevalence of trafficking, drug use, and prostitution, offering activities focused on education, sports, culture, and recreation. These activities take place from Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 6 pm, a schedule designed to provide peace of mind for the work routines of parents and guardians. We provide breakfast and lunch for those attended in the morning and lunch and afternoon snacks, all supervised by a nutritionist.
Our services cover approximately 160 neighborhoods, with the majority being densely populated areas where people are in situations of social vulnerability, facing serious problems that impact children and adolescents. Among these, we can highlight the most common issues: drug use, family conflicts, and violence.
To improve the quality of life for children and adolescents and enhance their life perspectives, we organize activities that allow them to experience a new environment of leisure, magic, and joy. For example, we have the Easter celebration with the distribution of Easter eggs for everyone, the grand June festival, the children’s week camp, cultural performances, and the Christmas party. During the Christmas event, each student writes a letter stating their dream, and through our partners, we strive to fulfill the wish of each one.
