The Social Work São Luís is a non-profit civil society organization operating in the city of Lorena, in the interior of São Paulo’s Paraíba Valley. It provides socio-pedagogical assistance and professional development to a diverse audience, including children, adolescents, youth, adults, the elderly, and families.
Founded on March 19, 1902, the Social Work São Luís was established based on the Preventive System of the holy founder of the Salesians Congregation, Dom Bosco. The organization focuses on providing support to children, adolescents, youth, and adults in the city facing social vulnerability. Today, it conducts approximately 390 daily sessions during the school’s off-hours, all free of charge, through three services and five projects maintained by the institution: the SCFV (Social Conviviality and Strengthening of Bonds Service), the CEDESP (Center for Social and Productive Development), and the PAIF (Integral Family Assistance Program).
