BemTv is a non-profit organization that has been working since 1992 with media and education for adolescents and young people in low-income areas of Niterói and São Gonçalo, with which it has developed excellent work in training and providing audiovisual and new media services. In 2017, it was recognized as a Cultural Point, integrated into the context of the Culture Alive Law.
Projects
- Institutional Axis: Actions related to sustainability, planning, monitoring, evaluation, construction of indicators, communication, and political advocacy in spaces of participation and social control in the areas of promoting the rights of youth, children, and adolescents, promoting racial equality, social assistance, education, and culture are linked to the Institutional Axis. An important part of the sustainability strategy is constituted by BemTv Produções, which operates in the ‘social business’ format, where profits are entirely reinvested in the sustainability of the NGO’s social initiatives.
- Programmatic Axis: Actions focused on the training of adolescents and young people for the world of work are located; Assistance for the development of individual and collective projects, and Audiovisual production of research. In the areas of Training and Assistance, ongoing actions include:
- Project Olho Vivo: Conducts media workshops for adolescents in low-income communities in Niterói and São Gonçalo and provides assistance to groups of “Young Communicators” dedicated to income generation and the development and maintenance of alternative media.
- Integration with Public Schools: Aims to foster exchange between public schools and civil society organizations with the goal of improving educational technologies and influencing education policies.
